Wheelchairs on Kilimanjaro - the definitive answer

After months of enquiries and research, we finally have (what we hope is) a definitive answer to the question of whether anybody has successfully climbed Kilimanjaro in a wheelchair. On the 13th October 2003, Bernard Goosen successfully climbed to the top using a modified wheelchair, taking 12 days in total.
You can find a picture and account of Bernard and his climb by visiting his Get Motivated website. Since then, Bernard has tried to climb once more, in 2005, though this attempt proved unsuccessful and Bernard was forced to return back. A third attempt is scheduled for this year.
