Look who made it to the top of Kilimanjaro this week!
Another boy gets to the top of Kilimanjaro

In
what seems to be becoming an almost weekly event, yet another child has manged to
climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro.
Following on from the exploits of the remarkable
Keats Boyd, who last month stood on the Roof of Africa at the age of just seven,
comes news of South African Christiaan Vivier who, on Saturday April 5, reached the
summit of Kilimanjaro aged 10 years and 5 days.
While Christiaan can't quite claim
the record of being the youngest person ever on the summit, he does have a record
of sorts, being the youngest person to conquer the mountain and obey the park authorities'
stipulation that climbers be at least ten before making an assault on the mountain.
So congratulations to Christiaan are still due; after all, it is one hell of an achievement,
at whatever age, to reach the highest point in the whole of Africa.
