About Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

This site is written and maintained by Henry Stedman, author of the bestselling guide Kilimanjaro: The Trekking Guide to Africa’s Highest Mountain. You can find out about the book by clicking on the picture to the right.

It’s fair to say I’m a little obsessed about the mountain. Since writing the first edition of my Kilimanjaro guide in 2001 I have climbed the mountain by all the major routes. Furthermore, when I’m not on the mountain or checking out the local Tanzanian towns and agencies for the next edition, I can be found updating this website, trawling the web for Kilimanjaro memorabilia or looking in antiquarian bookstores for rare books on the mountain.

This may all sound a little sad but hopefully my passion, as peculiar as it is, will help you to have the time of your life on Kilimanjaro - or at least the trek of your life. And you never know, follow my advice and you could enjoy climbing Kili so much that you’ll become as sad as me!
